7th Annual Nominations and Selection Timeline Announced
The Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance, Inc. Citizen of the Year award is presented each year in December to that individual who best represents the qualities each of us admire and respect among our friends, neighbors, and associates. This award is not given so much for achievement as it is for helping others achieve. It’s not given for outstanding single effort, as much as for long-term, continuing commitment to the community. It’s not given for position, public or private. It is given for “being there” when there is service called for. It’s not given for being a member of the Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance, or for being a sponsor, or for financial contribution. It is for being the one everybody wants on the committee when there’s a job to be done. It’s for the one who says, “sure – I’ll help – what do we need to do?” And then does it. And it’s for the one who says, “Horseshoe Bay is my home – and my life – and its future and mine are the same – and whatever i can do to make them better, I will do.
The Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance, Inc’s. Citizen of the Year Committee has distributed Citizen of the Year Nominations forms for the 2023 award. Nomination forms can be found at these Horseshoe Bay business locations: Arrowhead Bank, Bay Pharmacy, Prosperity Bank in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, FirstUnited Bank, Cadence Bank, ValueBank of Texas, ACE Hardware, City of Horseshoe Bay, Bayside Fresh Market, The Bottle Shop, and HSB-POA Quail Point Lodge. Citizen nominations forms are also available on request by messaging Mike Brittain at mbritthsbba@gmail.com. Subject Line: “2023 Citizen Nomination Form”.
The deadline to submit Nominations for 2023 Citizen of the Year is September 30. Finalists will be announced November 3. The Award Ceremony will take place on December 4 during the HSB-POA, Quail Point Annual Holiday Festivities.
The Rules and Criteria to be considered for the HSBBA Citizen of the Year are: Must reside in the city of Horseshoe Bay; Demonstrate leadership, exemplary community involvement and volunteerism (in and around our HSB community); Philanthropic efforts may also be considered. Ineligible for consideration for the Citizen of the Year Award are: Any elected or appointed officials; Staff of an elected or appointed official; A public employee; A board member or staff of HSBBA; A current member of the Citizen of the Year selection committee; Previous year Citizen of the Year Award recipient. Only citizens of Horseshoe Bay are eligible to submit nominations or receive the award. The Citizen of the Year can be awarded to an individual or a couple. Organization, groups or entities are not eligible to receive the award.
